School and College Teams
Participating in riding as part of your school experience is a dream of every young horse owner.  More importantly being able to earn scholarship funds for riding on a school or college team is the best of both worlds. The Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) has been making both possible for over 40 years and several colleges have recently launched NCAA equestrian teams.

These programs require riders to compete on unfamiliar horses, chosen by random draw and provided by the hosting school.  This unfamiliarity forces riders to learn to be much more than passengers, to really understand how to work with any horse.

At Richmond Hill Farm we offer team opportunities to all of our riders in middle school, high school and college.  Not only does it make riding more fun by adding the whole team experience participation creates better, more experienced riders and can lead to athletic scholarshps.

WARNING Under Louisiana law, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to R.S. 9:2795.3.

Middle and High School Students
Thanks to the Riders Interscholastic Federation of North America, RIFNA, middle and high school students get a leg up in learning how to compete and win in the same format used by the IHSA and the new NCAA Equestrian Sports programs.

RIFNA require riders to compete on unfamiliar horses, chosen by random draw and provided by the hosting school.  This unfamiliarity forces riders to learn to be much more than passengers, to really understand how to work with any horse.
